FAQs: How to send California DE 9C data in ICESA or MMREF format to EDD after 2012?
The California EDD will stop processing DE 9C data file in ICESA and MMREF formats after the end of 2012. Starting from the 1st quarter of 2013, DE9C files need to be in XML format.
If your system has not been updated to produce and transmit DE 9C data in XML, you can continue to send the ICESA or MMREF data file through our website to efile to the EDD.
- Online entry - Users can prepare, generate PDF copies and efile forms DE 9, DE 9C, W-2, W-2C, 1099-misc, correction, 941, 940 and others completely online at the website.
- Data upload - For large numbers of records, users can upload a data file to generate PDF copies and efile (DE 9C, W-2, 1099, etc.). For DE 9C filing, users can upload ICESA, MMREF, Excel, .csv or .txt files and we will process and efile to EDD.
- FSET Windows software - Users can download and install the software on their desktop PC, then upload DE 9C, DE9, DE34 and DE542 data in Excel or manually enter data to efile. For DE 9C, the program will convert ICESA or MMREF files to XML as well. Therefore, you can continue to use your existing reporting system to submit DE 9C easily.
